ANXIETY THERAPY

“Anxiety is what you do, not who you are.” (TH)

Your thoughts race a mile a minute, like a spiral that never stops. Others may tell you there’s nothing to worry about, but you have a sense of obligation or pressure to keep going. Maybe it’s signs in your body - like rapid breathing, an increased heart rate, or excessive sweating. Maybe it’s the thoughts that run through your head as you’re trying to sleep. Or the worry about the future or the current stress of navigating a difficult relationship or circumstance. You might be moving from task to task, one responsibility after another, without a clear sense of focus or calm. Maybe you notice yourself avoiding places, people, or situations in an effort to reduce any experience of anxiety. Anxiety can feel burdensome - feel like a constant hum in your mind, or sudden waves that take over your body.

If you’re seeking an off-ramp, you don’t have to figure it out alone. In our work together, we’ll examine the roots of anxiety with care and curiosity. We’ll focus on deepening an awareness of your cycles of pain and coping, and ultimately work side-by-side in creating off-ramps that support your nervous system. Sometimes off-ramps may look like implementing self-soothing or self-regulation skills. It can also look like strengthening your capacity for connection and calm by identifying cognitions and beliefs that support your whole being and promote empowered living.

Here to help you calm your nervous system, reduce overwhelm, and feel more connected to yourself and others.

TRAUMA/EMDR THERAPY

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is an evidence-based approach designed to help the brain and body heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. When something overwhelming happens, the nervous system can hold onto those memories in a way that continues to trigger emotional or physical distress, even long after the event.  EMDR supports the natural healing process by engaging both sides of the brain through gentle, guided eye movements or bilateral stimulation. This allows painful memories to be processed and integrated - so they no longer feel as charged or defining. In our work together, EMDR is woven in a relational and parts-aware framework, meaning we move at a pace that feels safe and supported. You remain in control at every step. The goal isn’t to relive the past, but release it’s hold - so you can experience greater calm, clarity and confidence in the present.

EMDR is not traditional talk therapy, so it’s important we take time to organize and sequence our work together in a way that promotes greater agency and understanding throughout the process.

COUPLES THERAPY

You might be seeking therapy for pre-marital or marital counseling. As your therapist, I will guide and support you in understanding the cycles of emotion and behaviors within the context of your relationship. Themes couples come to therapy seeking support with include navigating life transitions, family dynamics, strengthening communication, and trust rebuilding. With the undergirding of attachment, mindfulness and emotional regulation, we will work to identify negative “pain” cycles  and empower you towards new patterns of behavior that leads to greater intimacy and a deeper connection. Neuroplasticity is key here. You will acquire tools, build understanding, and most importantly practice experiential exercises of connecting from a place of peace and empowered choice.

Helping partners rebuild trust, improve communication, and create safety and closeness in their relationship.

GRIEF/LOSS

Grief is often complicated in nature. It can be the loss of a significant love one, but it can also be what arises when moving through a life transition, a break-up or even a career/job change. These losses can lead to immense and difficult emotions and the complex nature of “moving forward.” Grief is absolutely normal with loss.

There is no no “fix it” solution with grief, nor is it linear. Rather, it is a process of honoring time and holding space for meaning-making; experiencing wholeness. I will encourage empowerment, connection and integration so you can make room within the grief for joy, connection and healing.

You don’t have to navigate grief alone.

TEENS

The teenage years are a unique time of growth—both challenging and exhilarating. You don’t have to navigate this time alone. I’m here to support teens in connecting with themselves, finding their voice, and building the resilience needed to face life’s ups and downs.

In our sessions, we’ll explore the emotional landscape of both the joys and hardships that come with adolescence. Together, we’ll equip teens with personalized tools and strategies to help them make healthy, empowered choices in their everyday lives.

When necessary, I also incorporate family sessions to strengthen communication and support within the family system—because understanding family dynamics is a key part of navigating these formative years.
